大家一路走过来，所学的物理、化学等等，往往都是西方文化主导的。涉及到传统文化，你可能会认为它是封建迷信的东西，但事实上，以后我们在学习中你会逐渐地发现，它完全不是那样，想象与真相相差很远。
Throughout your journey of learning, subjects like physics and chemistry have predominantly been shaped by Western culture. When it comes to traditional culture, you might perceive it as feudal superstition. However, as you delve deeper into your studies, you will gradually discover that this is entirely mistaken; the gap between such imaginings and the profound truth is vast.

首先我们要了解学习文化的重要性，这种重要性，我们从两个角度去进行认识：第一是从整个国家、民族，从宏观的大的角度去认识；第二是从个体、家庭，从较小的角度认识。
First, we must understand the paramount importance of cultural learning. We shall recognize this significance from two perspectives: first, from the macro perspective of the nation and the people; second, from the micro perspective of the individual and the family.

从国家和民族角度认识，大家需要有一个更深入的、全新的认识，这是这个民族得以发展和壮大的根本所在。为什么会这样？因为我们中华民族有个特点，它不是建立在血缘基础上的一个民族，它是建立在一个文化认同上的民族。这和其它的民族是不一样的，有的民族完全建立在血缘基础上的，自豪于血缘纯正，但是中华民族从来不是这样的，她汇聚了很多很多民族融合在一起。
From the national and ethnic perspective, a deeper, renewed understanding is essential – for this understanding is the very root of our nation's development and flourishing. Why is this so? Because our Chinese nation possesses a unique characteristic: it is not founded solely on blood lineage, but upon a profound cultural resonance.This distinguishes us from other ethnic groups, some of whom are built entirely on blood ties and pride in lineage purity. The Chinese nation has never been thus; she is a sacred confluence, merging countless peoples into one harmonious whole.

我们所需要思考的是，她们为什么能融合在一起？你可能会说，是因为战争，有一个强大的力量把它统一在一起的。但人类历史上强大的力量有很多，比如罗马帝国，凯撒大帝、亚历山大等等，他们都曾经非常强大，但他们之后很快就分崩离析，他们并没有形成一个完整的统一的强大的民族。为什么会这样？，因为它没有先进的统一的文化。仅仅依靠一个外在的力量把她们绑在一起，那是不起作用的，最终一定会分崩离析的。
What we must contemplate is: Why werethese diverse peoples able to merge? You might suggest it was through warfare, a powerful external force imposing unity. Yet history abounds with mighty forces – the Roman Empire, Caesar, Alexander the Great – all immensely powerful in their time, yet their empires swiftly fragmented. They failed to forge an enduring, unified, and powerful nation. Why? Because they lacked an advanced, unifying culture. Mere externalforce binding peoples together is ultimately futile; such unions inevitably dissolve.

而中华民族恰恰相反，能够把她们融合在一起的，是一个非常先进的文化。在这个文化基础上，外来的民族不断地融合进来。在我们中华民族的发展历史上，曾经遭遇了很多很多的外敌入侵，有的是很强大的军事力量，这些军事力量在攻进来之后，最终都如飞蛾扑火般地融入了中华民族，它并没有导致这个民族的分崩离析。为什么？因为它的文化太先进，敌人也需要文化，比如：敌人需要医学，他需要健康，没有先进的医学文化他们怎么确保健康？这是中华民族伟大的地方。
The Chinese nation stands in stark contrast. What fused her peoples together was a supremely advanced culture.Upon this cultural foundation, incoming peoples continuously assimilated.
Throughout our history, we faced numerous invasions by formidable foreign powers. Yet, after breaching our borders, these conquerors were invariably drawn like moths to a spiritual flame, merging into the Chinese nation, never causing her dissolution. Why? Because the culture was too advanced. Even invaders need culture– they need medicine, they need health. How could they ensure well-being without advanced medical wisdom? Herein lies the greatness of the Chinese nation.

正是因为有了这样先进的文化，所以中华民族在她的历史发展过程中，从刚开始一个很小的地域，慢慢扩大，逐渐的发展，最终形成了一个庞大的中华文化圈。这个中华文化圈包括其它很多国家，都建立在对这同一个文化认同基础上，都自豪于自己是这个文化圈的人。
Precisely because of this advanced culture, the Chinese nation, throughout her historical development, expanded from a small territory, gradually growing to form a vast Sino-spiritual sphere.This sphere encompasses many nations, all founded upon this shared cultural resonance, each taking pride in belonging to this enlightened cultural realm.

正是有这样先进的文化，所以才吸引了很多民族加入进来，从而使中华民族不断地壮大，同时也保证这个文明古国，一直发展到现在，不断地滚滚向前，而且呈现出蓬勃旺盛的生命力。
It is this very advanced culture that magnetically drew diverse peoples to join, enabling the continuous expansion of the Chinese nation. Simultaneously, it ensured this ancient civilization's unbroken progression to the present day, surging forward with ever-vibrant spiritual vitality.

如果你认为它是个落后的文化，它怎么有这么强大的生命力呢？它怎么能够被人们所认同呢？在中华民族历史上，有很多很多非常先进的人物，如果它是落后的，难道这些人都看不到它的落后吗？正是那些无数的仁人志士因为看到它的先进性，所以自愿投身到中华民族的文明发展史中，推动它不断向前发展。
If you deem it a backward culture, how could it possess such enduring vitality? How could it command such profound resonance? Throughout Chinese history, countless luminaries arose. If the culture were truly backward, would these sages have failed to perceive it? It was precisely because these noble sages and awakened souls perceived its inherentadvancement that they willingly devoted themselves to theunfolding saga of Chinese civilization, propelling it ever forward.

如果我们把中华民族的发展史，进一步扩大开来，你再对比一下现在的整个世界，国与国之间，今天这里打仗，明天那里打仗，到处都在打仗，谁的拳头硬谁就厉害，为什么会这样？因为没有统一的文化。
If we extend the lens of Chinese developmental history to the present world, we see nations perpetually at war – conflict erupting here today, strife there tomorrow. Might makes right. Why is this so? Because there is no unifying culture.

全世界现在这种状况在中国古代也有，比如：从春秋战国时期开始，刚开始也是那样的，最后慢慢统一，然后在这种共同文化的凝聚下，不断发展壮大。此后，在以后的发展中，她也曾经出现过分裂，但是每一次分裂都会复合起来。我们常说历史的发展，分久必合、合久必分。对你来说这好像很正常，但它真的有点特殊。在其他的地方，分了就是分了，再也合不起来。什么原因？因为它没有这样先进的文化。而中华民族不一样，分只是暂时的，合才是历史的洪流。正是因为合的力量，远远大于分的力量，所以中华民族才会不断地发展壮大。
This global condition mirrors ancient China, beginning in the Warring States period: initial fragmentation and warfare, gradually giving way to unity. Under the cohesive power of a shared culture, the nation flourished. Later developments saw periods of division, yet each time reunification followed. We often say historycycles between division and union. While this may seem normal, it is truly unique. Elsewhere, division is often permanent. Why? The lack of such an advanced culture. For the Chinese nation, division is ephemeral; union is the eternal current. Precisely because the force of unity vastly outweighs division, the Chinese nation continuously grows and strengthens.

我们把这种状况扩展开来，如果全世界人民都拥有这个先进的文化，那么人们就会逐渐地像中华民族一样，慢慢地凝聚成一个整体，这样，国家的界限将会逐渐地突破，不会像现在一样，各种各样的国家的壁垒和界限。它会在文化的基础上，慢慢形成一个统一的人类共同体，这样就会自然地消除国与国之间的战争，人类将会迎来一个光明的未来，因为它建立在中华民族文化认同这个历史规律的基础上。
Extending this vision: if all peoples of the world embraced this advanced culture, humanity would gradually coalesce into one whole, much like the Chinese nation. National boundaries would dissolve, unlike the current state of barriers and divisions. Upon this cultural foundation, a unified Human Community would organicallyform. This would naturally eradicate wars between nations, ushering in a radiant dawn for humanity – for it is built upon the historical principle of cultural resonance exemplifiedby the Chinese experience.

就像我们在农业方面或者其它方面，做新的研究时，有时我们会在小范围内进行试验，试验成功后我们再推广。其实，从历史长河的角度来说，人类的发展也是这样，就相当于先在中华民族这个地方，做了一个试验，做了一个什么样的试验？，让人们接受先进的文化，看看这些小的民族和其它国家，能不能统一起来，形成一个统一体。非常庆幸的是，这样的文化，这样的试验成功了。中华民族以它几千年的发展历史证明，在这个统一的文化基础上，是可以形成统一的民族，统一的国家的，从而消灭战争。
Just as we test new agricultural or other innovations in small-scale trials before wider adoption, so too has humanity's development unfolded in the grand river of history. China served as the sacred proving ground for a profound experiment: Could diverse peoples and nations, embracing an advanced culture,unify into one harmonious entity? We are profoundly blessed that this culture,
this divine experiment, has triumphed. China's millennia-long history stands as irrefutable proof: upon a unified cultural foundation, a unified people and nation can emerge,thereby vanquishing war.

春秋战国时期，在分裂的时代里，到处都在打仗，到处都在死人，人类成批成批的死亡，那时和我们今天这个世界是一样的。但是在这种文化的作用下，它不断地趋向于统一，趋向于认同，很显然，这样的实验成功了，成功的实验就可以扩展开来。所以，文化的自信和民族的自信是一致的。
During the Warring States period, an era of fragmentation, warfare raged everywhere, death was rampant, humanity perished in multitudes – mirroring our world today. Yet, under the influence of this culture, a powerful current flowed inexorably towards unity and resonance. Clearly, the experiment succeeded. And a successful experiment can be replicated. Thus, cultural confidence and national confidence are one and the same.

我们可以试想，未来的发展，未来的人类，他们一定会建立起统一的文化，先进的文化，因为追求科学，追求先进的东西，是人类共同的梦想。在这样先进文化的基础上，自然会形成人类命运共同体，那么这个世界，就会减少很多战争，减少很多灾难、苦难。所以，这也是我们在这个新的时代，去推广学习东方传统文化的根本意义，因为东方传统文化与西方文化相比，有着极其强大的优势，它是非常科学，非常伟大的。这是从整个民族国家和人类的发展这个角度来讲。
We can envision the future: humanity will inevitablyestablish a unified, advanced culture, for the pursuit of science and advancement is humanity's shared dream. Upon such an advanced cultural foundation, a Community of SharedDestiny for Humankind will naturally arise. This world willthen see far less war, disaster, and suffering. Therefore, promoting and
studying the traditional culture of the East in this new era is of fundamental significance. For compared to Western culture, Eastern traditional culture possesses immense power; it is profoundly scientific and sublime. This is the perspective from the vantage point of national, and indeed, human development.

我们一定要在这个基础上，深入学习东方传统文化，然后向人类其他地方不断地推广，使人类都能够认识东方传统文化，然后，在统一的文化基础上，避免战争避免灾难，使人类走向光明的未来，这也是东方，为整个世界创造的一个非常光明的前景。
We must deeply study the traditional culture of the East upon this foundation,then ceaselessly share it with all humanity. Let all peoples recognize this Eastern wisdom. Then, upon a unified cultural basis, we can avoid war and disaster, guiding humanity towards a luminous future. This is the radiant prospect the East offers unto the entire world.
